The goal of every project is to perform the work that is needed or desired to the highest level possible while staying within a client’s budget. Projects can vary greatly in terms of scope, schedule and budget. But there are general categories or areas of need that most will need addressing. These include the following four areas.
Every project starts with the same question, “What is it going to cost?” J2’s experienced estimators have the ability to work with you in making pivotal decisions very early in the design process. Having estimators on staff allows us to provide valuable pricing information quickly. This allows for conceptual design phasing to move forward efficiently, keeping projects on schedule.
Construction projects live and die by their abilities to stay on schedule. This doesn’t only apply to the contractor, but to everyone involved. Decisions must be made, designs have to get out the door for pricing and permit review, and construction must start and finish as expeditiously as possible. J2 prepares and maintains a schedule throughout the project that highlights important milestones and target dates. This information is utilized by all members of the construction team to work toward a seamless, efficient construction project.
Scope of Repair
Bakers need a recipe to bake. Contractors need a scope of repair to construct. J2 prepares a comprehensive scope of repair that will be utilized for construction, and ultimately incorporated into bid and contract documents. A scope is initially prepared as part of the design phase of construction to allow the client to understand the magnitude of the work, for budget estimates to be prepared, and to gain feedback from contractors and industry professionals. The scope is then fine tuned and sculpted into a finished product that becomes arguably the most important tool utilized by the contractors when bidding a project.
The goal of every project is to perform the work that is needed or desired to the highest level possible while staying within a client’s budget. Performing work at a lower cost does not have to mean lower quality. J2’s staff has a vast amount of knowledge and personal experience dealing with a variety of products and project means and methods. Our goal of value engineering a project is finding out how to get the same result at a lower cost, without sacrificing quality.
